Gabby Trúc Cohen is a writer based in Brooklyn, where she is currently an Axinn Fellow and MFA Candidate at New York University.
A 2022-2023 Periplus Fellow, her work has been supported by fellowships with Hedgebrook, Carolyn Moore Writers' Residency, Ragdale, and Writing by Writers. Her writing has been published in The Audacity, The Sun, diaCritics, and elsewhere. She is currently at work on a novel.
As a Princeton in Asia Fellow in Sài Gòn, Vietnam, she worked in public health communications, focusing on public policy in road safety, youth development, and labor rights. She is also a former humanitarian aid worker. As a writer for the global nonprofit, Mercy Corps, she reported on work in Ukraine, Syria, Jordan, Ethiopia, Kenya, Guatemala, Colombia, and Indonesia.
She is the daughter of immigrants & refugees. She was raised in Southern California, but has called home Los Angeles, Oakland, Sài Gòn, and Da Lat.
